Bourbon Cigars

Where There’s Fire; There’s Smoke . . and Bourbon!

As a father of three children ranging in age from five to ten, there’s nothing quite like a quiet evening at home, relaxing in front of a crackling firepit with a cigar and a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned. This is the ultimate way to unwind after a long day, reconnect with your inner self, and take some much-needed time for yourself.

There’s something primal and satisfying about sitting around the firepit, with the scent of wood smoke in the air, and the flicker of flames casting a warm glow over everything. It’s a time to let go of the stresses of work and family life, and just be present in the moment, enjoying the simple pleasures of life

To really take this experience to the next level, I always make sure to have a premium cigar on hand. There’s just something about the ritual of cutting, lighting, and puffing on a cigar that helps me to slow down and savor the moment. And, of course, the rich, complex flavors of a high-quality cigar perfectly complement the smooth, sophisticated taste of a well-made Old Fashioned.

Speaking of Old Fashions, there’s an art to making the perfect one. Start with a good quality bourbon and muddle a sugar cube with a splash of water and a few dashes of bitters. Add a large ice cube and a generous pour of Bourbon, and stir until well mixed. Finish with a twist of orange peel and a cherry for a touch of sweetness. Sounds perfect! And if you’re a do it yourself when it comes to make drinks have at it. For me, Stirrings simple Old Fashioned mix will do just fine! This is the perfect drink to sip on slowly as you enjoy the warmth of the fire and the rich flavors of your cigar.

Of course, as a father of young children, it’s not always easy to find the time and space for a peaceful evening like this. But with a little planning and creativity, it’s definitely possible. I usually put the kids to bed early and start up the fire. Perhaps you can enlist your partner to take the kids on a special outing for the evening, or arrange for a babysitter to come over and watch them for a few hours. You could even set up a special “campfire” in your backyard, complete with blankets and comfortable chairs, to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

For me, these quiet evenings in front of the firepit are a chance to reconnect with my own thoughts and feelings, to reflect on the day that has passed and to prepare myself mentally for the challenges that lie ahead. It’s a chance to recharge my batteries and to find a sense of peace and contentment in the midst of a busy and sometimes chaotic life.

So if you’re Father like me, with young children and a hectic schedule, I urge you to take some time for yourself and indulge in the simple pleasures of life. Set up a cozy firepit, stock up on your favorite cigars and bourbon, and let yourself be transported to a world of warmth, relaxation, and pure enjoyment. You deserve it.
